Directions = Summary = Carlsmith Beach is one of Suzy and I favorite beaches because it is stunningly beautiful, the water is usually calm (inside the lagoon) and safe, and there are TURTLES! It's a very popular beach and was rated #25 best beach in the US by Travel and Leisure. If you go, be sure to bring snorkel gear so you can see the turtles that often come. Be careful not to approach or touch the turtles as it is a crime and comes with a large fine. The water is cold because Carlsmith is fed from fresh water springs. If you swim out into the lagoon, you will reach salt water and it is much warmer. Location
